Dynamic Adaptability in Operating Systems by Means of anObject { Oriented
نویسنده
چکیده
Dynamic adaptability of operating systems becomes more and more important, to be able to deal with new requirements, without the necessity of recompiling and rebooting the whole system. In the eld of software development the object-oriented paradigm has been widly accepted as powerful method to achieve adaptability. This paper presents a novel approach to achieve ne-grained, dynamic adaptability by means of an object-oriented system architecture, used within the CHEOPS 1 kernel.

Dynamic Interface Adaptability in Service Oriented Software
This paper deals with the adaptability in the context of service oriented systems. Static adaptability means simply the modification of the system constituents in response to new needs or situations. Whereas dynamic adaptability requires that modifications must be done at run-time without stopping the system and without affecting its consistency and integrity which is a very complicated task. A...
متن کاملOn Adaptable Aspect-Oriented Operating Systems
Operating systems for small embedded devices have to cope with a broad variety of requirements as well as strict resource constraints. Family-based operating system development, based on aspect-oriented techniques, is a promising approach to implement operating system product lines that are highly configurable and tailorable. However, static applicationspecific tailoring of operating systems is...
متن کاملFine - Grained Dynamic Adaptability in the CHEOPS 1 Operating System { An Object - Oriented Approach
Dynamic adaptability of operating system kernels is a hot topic of research projects al over the world. This paper presents the basics and some implemtation aspects of an object-oriented system architecture, the so-called class-object architecture , which was designed to support ne-grained dynamic adaptability in the CHEOPS operating system project. One central idea of the presented concept is ...
متن کاملTransparent and Adaptable Object Replication Using a Reflective Java
1 Adaptability to special requirements of applications is a crucial concern of modern operating system 2 architectures. Reflection and meta objects are means to achieve this adaptability. This paper describes a reflective architecture and the realization of different object-replication techniques within this architecture. The reflective architecture is an extension of the Java run-time environm...
متن کاملComparison of three types of G × E performance plot for showing and interpreting genotypes’ stability and adaptability
A G × E performance (interaction, profile) plot for showing genotype-by-environment data is discussed. Three versions of such a plot are compared: the regular performance plot; the performance plot based on coded data (environment-centered performance plot), in which the environment means of a trait are subtracted from data; and the performance plot based on data standardized in environments (e...
